Vaughan held the distinction of being the fastest-growing municipality in Canada between 1996 and 2006 and is currently the 17th largest city in Canada and growing. There is a large Italian community in Vaughan based in the beautiful communities of Woodbridge and Maple. Thornhill has one of the largest Jewish communities in Toronto. The village of Kleinburgh, located at the north end of Vaughan has a rural charm and is home to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
