Update on Memorial Service

The memorial service for Jack is scheduled for May 29 — this coming Friday — at 11:00 a.m. (See more details below.) If you’re planning on attending but haven’t notified me, send me an with the number of people you expect to be in your party and I’ll send you a map.

The family asked me to announce that there will be a reception afterward for those who attend the service, at which there will be an opportunity for people to give short testimonies about Jack. If you’re unable to attend but would like to have your comments read at the reception, please shoot me an and, as Jack used to say, tell me all about it.

Memorial Service Information

Jack D. Hunter will be laid to rest on Friday, May 29, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, located at 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, Florida.

The family plans to have a reception afterwards for those who attend the service, at a location about 30 minutes’ drive from the cemetery.

If you plan to attend the reception, please RSVP as soon as possible so we can get some idea of the number of people to plan for. Just drop me an with the number of people you expect to be in your party and I’ll send you a map.

And if you can’t join us, take a moment to smile in memory of a very special man.

(For those of you who might be wondering, I’m doing okay. Yes, I have my blue moments — I miss picking up the phone and trading insults with him — but my strongest emotion is that I’m glad that he is at last happy and comfortable.)
